The first, announced a few weeks back, is either a Nokia Lumia 800 or 710. Nokia are giving 25,000 to developers, and while it isn’t clear which device you might get, it is clearer how you can get hold of one. It comes down to belonging to one of Nokia’s developer programs – Nokia Launchpad. Everyone who was a member of Nokia Launchpad, or was a Nokia Developer Champion on October 26th (the date the devices were announced at Nokia World) will be eligible to receive a device.
Full Details at Nokia Developer.
The second device is an N9. Nokia have a competition for all developers to come up with a new icon for their app using the new icon templates. It does have to be for a real app, and if your app isn’t published yet, you can provide screenshots and description along with your icon. Apps can be for either Series40, MeeGo or Symbian, and should communicate the essence of your app.
Submissions must be your own, original work, based on Nokia’s templates, and emailed to Nokia developer between November 14 and November 30th. Winners will get one of “a number” of N9’s up for grabs, and their icon and app will be featured in the Nokia developer community, project and wiki front pages.
