A few days ago, MeeGo 1.2 Developer edition was given a demo and talk at the MeeGo conference in San Fransisco. During that, very little time was actually given to showing the OS and I reached the conclusion that not much time was given to a functional demo because, frankly, not much was functional.
Well now we have a better look – a full half hour of looking at it thanks to the Hong Kong Meego user group. The version is MeeGo 1.99 with the developer release 1.2 expected in late June or early July.
I think what they have so far looks nice in general, but it still also looks to me like they are a long way off from a release that consumers could use.
On another point, it also mentions that the Nokia device coming out uses Maemo 6 / Harmattan rather than MeeGo and is “supposed to be MeeGo compatible in some way”.
